A CEO’s Message
As summer draws to a close, we have observed a significant increase in demand for our site selection, project development, and consulting services, resulting in heightened activity for the SelectGlobal team.
This month, we had the privilege of engaging with companies from Thailand, Malaysia, India, China, and Singapore, which has further broadened our reach and reinforced our global network. Additionally, our ongoing collaboration with Lithuania and our productive discussions with Germany underscore our commitment to fostering international partnerships.
Regarding industry events, we have been actively participating, beginning with our trip to Anaheim for RE+ and subsequently traveling to Edmonton, Canada, for the SiteLink forum. Both events presented excellent opportunities to connect with key stakeholders in the FDI sector and explore new avenues for collaboration.
Beyond site selection and negotiation, we are also strengthening relationships with new cities and a diverse group of professionals across various sectors, ensuring our position at the forefront of the industry. I extend my sincere gratitude to our dedicated team for their efforts in keeping projects on track and moving forward. Your commitment truly makes a significant impact!

We are pleased to announce the successful conclusion of the SiteLink Forum 2024, which took place from September 18-20, 2024, in the picturesque Municipal District of Bonnyville, Alberta. This year’s forum convened local leaders, site selectors, and industry experts for a distinguished exchange of ideas, promoting collaboration and innovation across various industries.
A Collaborative Platform for Strategic Growth
Hosted by Webster Global Site Selector, the SiteLink Forum was established to offer local communities a valuable opportunity to engage with esteemed site selectors in a collaborative and intimate environment. Leaders and participants examined strategic opportunities across key industries, including: - Energy
- Renewable Energy with a focus on Hydrogen
- Value-Added Agriculture
- Defense Procurement in anticipation of the expansion of the 4 Wing Cold Lake air base beginning 2026

Throughout the forum, participants gained insights into the benefits that the Municipal District of Bonnyville No. 87 region can provide for businesses looking to establish or expand their operations. Key highlights included: Strategic Location: Close proximity to key industries, including Agriculture, Oil & Gas, and Defense sectors. Stunning Local Amenities: Cold Lake, a 144 square mile / 373km^2, and over 600 feet deep lake, and Kinosoo Ridge Adventure and Ski Resort offering year around activities. Access: The Municipal District owns and operates the registered airport. It is suitable for expansion to limited commercial jet & expanded cargo. Education: Portage College with an excellent culinary program and many academic upgrading programs complimenting their 2 and 4 year program offerings including a Bachelor of Science in Nursing – Rural Community Route. Defense: 4 Wing Cold Lake is the busiest fighter base in Canada. It provides general purpose, multi-role, combat capable forces in support of domestic and international roles of Canada's Air Force and has $2 Billion of upgrades available. With 1,750 military and 450 civilian personnel it is one of the largest employers in the area. Trade Area: with over 67,000 people it provides a solid consumer base and opportunities for growth Median Household Income: at $112,000 (CAN) the M.D. Bonneville area is well above the Province of Alberta at $95,000 (CAN) and Canada as a whole at $84,000 (CAN).

113th National Day of the Republic of China (Taiwan)

The National Day of the Republic of China (Taiwan), celebrated on October 10, marks the start of the Wuchang Uprising in 1911, leading to the fall of the Qing Dynasty and the establishment of the Republic of China. After relocating to Taiwan in 1949, the day symbolizes Taiwan's history of development and democracy. Celebrations include fireworks, parades, and speeches, both in Taiwan and by Taiwanese diplomatic offices worldwide. In honor of the 113th National Day, a reception will be held on October 4, 2024, at the Union League Club of Chicago, hosted by Director General Dennis Y.F. Lei. This RSVP event will be featured in the October newsletter.
